Open letter: Make algorithms of public services transparent

Government agencies, the UWV, the Tax Authority and other public institutions use algorithms that determine whether you receive benefits, are denied a permit or are subject to extra scrutiny. Citizens have no idea on what basis these decisions are made. We demand full transparency: publish which algorithms are used, who built them, and how to appeal when an algorithm decides about you.
